The "Farmer Seeks Wife" couple Anna and Gerald Heiser give up their farm in Namibia for economic reasons. While he is looking forward to a new beginning, his wife is plagued by separation pain and doubts.
It's a done deal: Anna and Gerald Heiser are leaving Namibia. The couple, who met and fell in love in 2017 on the RTL dating show "Farmer Seeks Wife International" ( here on RTL+ ), shared this news with their fans. Persistent drought and rising costs had made things difficult for Gerald Heiser when managing the farm. This was compounded by marital problems. Because Heiser believes he even suffered a burnout at one point, he pulled the emergency brake and decided to leave everything behind and start anew in his wife's country of birth.
While he looks forward to a new beginning in Poland with optimism, his wife is plagued by quiet doubts - and the pain of saying goodbye, as Anna Heiser now reveals to her Instagram followers. The decision to give up the farm was a "gradual process," she explains: "We tried to push this thought away. In November we actually confronted it openly for the first time." After her husband's burnout, they decided to sell the farm and leave his Namibian homeland. Before that, they had tried everything to hold on to their life there, "but at some point the body said stop," says Anna Heiser.
She doesn't actually want to return to Europe, but: "We have to part with the farm and my husband doesn't want to stay in Namibia." Unfortunately, "nothing else" can happen that will stop this process now: "Gerald has finished with the topic." When asked by a follower whether they could specialize in tourist tours in Namibia instead of farm life, Anna Heise simply replies that her husband simply doesn't want to stay in Namibia anymore.
However, they do not yet know when exactly the move to Poland will take place. "It depends on when we find a good buyer for the farm." They hope to "have it dealt with before September." There are already a few interested parties, but the sale is a lengthy process. They are also trying to find a buyer who will continue to employ the staff.
Is reality catching up with Gerald Heiser? As Anna Heiser had previously revealed to RTL, the family is planning to move to the north of their Polish homeland, near a port and close to their family. Gerald Heiser wants to look for a new job there - but no longer in agriculture. As she now reveals via Instagram, she herself would like to work again "sooner or later". "It depends on how quickly the children settle in."
Anna Heiser is aware that the new start will not be easy, she explains. After all, she has experience of packing up and emigrating when she moved to Namibia for Gerald eight years ago. She can therefore well imagine that her husband will suffer from homesickness in Poland. "Right now he is very euphoric about his plans for the future, but reality will hit him sooner or later. It is completely normal when emigrating that the first year and a half are hard." Whether he will make it in Europe depends on "whether he is open to it."
The family has to find a new home in Poland. Anna Heiser owns an apartment there, but it is too small for her. The Heisers would also like to take all of their pets with them to their new home.
